More about Kevin
Kevin has served with the Pastors In Prayer Ministry over 25 years beginning as the treasurer and volunteer to assist Pastor Bob with daily operations of the ministry. Along with Bob’s encouragement and support, in 2016 the Board asked Kevin to take more of an active role meeting pastors and church leaders in the Northeast Indiana with a part-time position. In the summer of 2018 Kevin assumed the full-time role of leading the ministry while Pastor Bob now “volunteers” to give support and prayer to the ministry.
In July of 2023 Kevin received a Sabbatical from the PIP board for the remaining of the year to take care of his wife with her diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer. After going part-time for the first half of 2024, Kevin was given another Sabbatical to support Cindy in her final battle against the cancer. On September 21, Cindy’s battle was over. The Lord welcomed His servant home. She fought the good fight and kept the faith.
Cindy’s journey is on Caring Bridge. Also, you can read A Tribute to Cindy by clicking the link that was written by Johnny Mac and there is a link to her Celebration of Life service from The Chapel of Fort Wayne. Kevin has turned the Executive Director’s reigns over to Johnny McCallister and is supporting Johnny and the ministry as coach/mentor to pastors.
Kevin holds bachelor’s degrees from Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee in Bible and preaching and here in Indiana from Huntington University in Organizational Management, and a Master of Science in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. He received certification from the Beeson Leadership Institute at Asbury College in Lexington, Kentucky. Kevin is also trained and certified as a Steven’s Minister through his home church.
Kevin, married to Cindy for 49 years, has resided in Fort Wayne IN for 40 years. They have four adult married children and ten grandchildren living either in Fort Wayne and Pendelton, Indiana; Austin, Texas or Dayton, Ohio. On March 7th of this year Kevin married Kari Troxel who was a widow for 13 years. Their coming together is a God-story as only He can write. Truly through their grief stories they have seen the fulfillment of the Lord’s promise of Romans 15:13 ~ “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
